Graduation Day!
Our Babygirl is officially a big gurl! Just shy of her third birthday, my baby is weaned. Tear . . . Tear, I can really bear witness to the benefits of extended breastfeeding. We have enjoyed our time, and are bonded for life, but my little one is growing up. Tears are forming in my eyes as I think about the fact that I no longer have a baby baby. The twins will be 7 soon! Well, it's on to new adventures and challenges. I'm preparing for a major shift in the parenting dynamics soon. Welcome to Preschoolhood, Sana Sunshine.

Maracas and Sandpaper
These maracas have become Hassana's favorite toy of the moment.
Behind her is the box of different fabric pieces. We just touch them all to exprience the different textures.

She holding her sandpaper #1 and looking at a number book. Even though she did successfully trace the number with her fingers, she eventually "eat" the card. LOL This girl is a mess!

Marshmallow Fun!
We were able to find halal (pork-free) marshmallow at the local Muslim market. It was such a treat for the children, because all the marshmallows sold in stores are made with animal-based gelatin. Hamza's (I thought the name was so cute.) are made with vegetable-based gelatin. e
We roasted them on the gas stove and made some smores. Yum-O!
Amir's mouth wasn't big enough.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! That's good.

A HOT MESS!

Moses, Aaron, and Sweet Little Baby Moses
For the past 6 weeks, the children and I have been studying the story of the Prophet Moses (Musa) in both the Bible and the Holy Quran. I have been so impressed by the children's abilty to narrate and understand this story and apply to our everyday life. I plan to cover all the Prophets of God, and we are using a play/skit format to bring the story to life. In our Moses play, we had so much fun. Amir portrayed Moses and Daddy was Pharoah. Amir would go to Dewayne and scream, "Pharoah, let the childrens go!" And Dewayne would yell back, "No." It was so funny! I have to get it all on tape somehow, so ya'll can see it.
Funny story: We have also been learning about Ancient Egypt, and we watch a Discovery channel show on Queen Nefertiti. So Amir asked me, "Mama, did Moses know Queen Nefertiti?"

The Moving Target
You may have noticed that there are fewer really great pictures of Babygirl.
The reason: She will not be still!
As soon as I get the camera, she gets to wiggling. I guess you can't ask for much from a ten month old.
She had on a beautiful dress this past Sunday and looked just plain edible. These are the best pictures I could get of the Moving Target.
