Countdown Day 14 ~ Create a Game

The children created board games based on the theme, "Race to Saviours' Day." This activity quickly became a favorite. I was blown away by the creativity. They were asked to come up with rules for the game as well as design it. I saw lakes of fire, bridges, forests, and even a "you win" card. We also got to practice critical thinking skills which I stress in our home.

I have found the Hidden Pictures Playground series from Highlights to be a great alternative for some those expensive Critical Thinking Company products that I'm dying for. The children enjoy doing them and asking questions of them as they work requires those budding critical thinking brain cells to grow. The activities are great when working in silence is required.
