On Tuesday, the children and I were blessed to see and hear Dr. Mae Jemison. If you don't know who Mae Jemison is, let me tell you, she is one bad sister. She was the first black woman, really woman of color, period, to go into space. Yes, a sister astronaut! She is also a MD doctor, a chemical engineer, and owner of 2 technical companies. The list goes on, but like I said, the sister is just bad. Her message was timely and inspiring. Dr. Jemison encouraged parents to allow their children the space and opportunities to explore and discover from an early age. I am so happy the children were able to see a living legend.
