Meditation Owls
My children and I have been studying yoga for a few months now. We love it! I've also incorporated meditation, relaxation scripts and breathing techniques into our routine. So when I saw this owl project I knew we had to do it. I cut the pieces out of felt, let them put them together and I hot glued them. They like to use them like you see above, over their faces during meditation and relaxation time. Yoga in My School is an awesome site with tons of ideas for bringing yoga into the classroom, wherever your classroom may be.

Little Yogis
Last week, I noticed that Yasina was constantly showing me different stretches and trying to do splits. My first thought, yoga! I've flirted with the art of yoga over the years, but never anything serious. So after a little searching, I found this wonderful illustration and put together a routine. We've began starting our schoool day with prayer and our yoga routine. The children love it. There's actually a movement to incorporate yoga into the public schools because of the calming effect it has on the children. More on toddler yoga in a later post.
