Let's Get Crafty--The M Project

So I collect letter Ms and the M is for Muhammad! Sounds silly, but I do. We pull them out every year for Saviours' Day as decor along with our glittery candles, string lights, a pendant banner I made 6 years ago. How do you decorate for Saviours' Day?

I'm Such a Foodie

Here's a few shots of some food I made for a talent show at the mosque. I hate to toot my own horn, but Beep, Beep! LOL I thought it turned out just lovely. My baby is so helpful. He cut out the watermelon basket for me.

Spinach dip in a red cabbage with rosemary, garlic crackers.

A tisket, a tasket, a fruit basket

And my fav, fruit kabobs. Cuuuutteeee

Baby Blanket Fever

Ok, I've decided that my new universal baby shower gift will be a baby blanket crocheted with love. We're expecting 3 girls in the mosque and today I completed all of those blankets. I'm just going to keep working and create a little stockpile. Trina suggested that I create a signature wrap for my blankets. I'm still working on that.
I've dubbed the black and white blankie, the Sick and Shut In blanket. Basically because I plan to give it to the next person whose well, sick and shut in. lol. Since this picture, I've added a pop of cranberry red to it. Cuuuute!

A Cool Refreshing Treat

Who knew a sorbet could be so easy? I guess I was thrown off by the fancy, French-sounding name. I made a yummy batch using a very ripe pineapple with the simplest recipe ever:

some ripe fruit (2-3 cups I would say)
1/2 cup water
8-10 tablespoons of sugar

Blend and freeze to your desired consistency. The longer you freeze it, the harder it gets.

Pretzel Fun

We made pretzels using this recipe the other day. It's been a minute since we've done some baking, but we're getting back into our groove. It's funny now that we have to make way for Babygirl, but she holds her own. It's really not that hard to find something she can do. Cooking with the children has always been a constant in my home. Now the twins are actually helpful (LOL), they can cut up veggies, mix well, and measure with a little supervision. Sorry no picture of the final product, they went too fast, but we covered them brown sugar and cinnamon. Yummo!

My 3 little people hard at work.

Bathroom Art

We recycled two canvases to create some art for the bathroom. The children loved this especially since we used the mini easels they made at Home Depot. I didn't have a canvas for Hassana, so she used a piece of cardstock. I think they really felt included by making a contribution to the new place.

Pretty abstract, but I love it.

Fit for a Prince

I finished Amir's hangers. He and Daddy call them Charleston boats. Now I've got to hang them along with the girl's.

Baking Baby!

My Yasina wanted to make these cute little jam tarts from a cookbook we picked out at the library. I must say she did a wonderful job and for the most part by herself. I handled the oven and gave some direction, but she did the work all on her own. Great job, Princess!

Yay! And they taste so good.

Fit for the Princesses

I saw these cute knob hangers in Michael's the other day for $.50 and thought of this post. I can just see purses, hats, and feather boas hanging from them in the girls' room.

Cute, Cute

I picked up sailboats for the Master's room, but I need more paint so I'll post those later.
