We were able to find halal (pork-free) marshmallow at the local Muslim market. It was such a treat for the children, because all the marshmallows sold in stores are made with animal-based gelatin. Hamza's (I thought the name was so cute.) are made with vegetable-based gelatin. e
We roasted them on the gas stove and made some smores. Yum-O!
Amir's mouth wasn't big enough.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! That's good.
A HOT MESS!
I'm glad I stopped by, because we haven't had marshmallows in ages for the same reason! I miss living in CA for this very reason, because I know exactly where the halal store is in my old hometown. Finding one here in small-town East Texas will be a bit more difficult, but I'll keep it on my list next time we visit Dallas.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you stop by as well! The children loved them, and I hope you can find them soon. Thanks.
