We colored and practiced letter "t." In Montessori, the lower case letters are taught first, because frankly we use them a whole lot more. I'm also not teaching them in a,b,c order either, but rather by frequency of use. I found a great guide in Barbara Curtis's Mommy, Teach me to Read.
Hassana practiced hand-eye coordination by puttting toothpicks into the holes of an old seasoning jar. This was so easy for her.
