Saviours' Day Gifts for Our Lovey Ones

The children made Saviours' Day gifts for their Sat. and Mon. classes.
For Amir's class we recycled crayons.
Tearing off the labels was a pain. After we were done, I read on the Net that you could soak the crayons in cold water and the paper will just come off. We'll try that next time.
We separated the crayons by color and melted them in the oven at 200 degrees.

Pouring the hot wax in the molds was my job, and you can see I made a hot mess!

I thought our new crayons turned out super cute. Hat tip to No Time for Flash Cards.

For Yasina's girly classmates, we made pink playdough with purple glitter. What more could a girl want?
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup hot water
2 big squirts of red tempra paint
glitter
Mix it all up and mash with your hands.

For Yasina's teacher, we mixed up some brown sugar scrub. This was so easy, and I love using this stuff.
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 olive oil
2 tablespoons honey
Heavenly!

Yasina's gift

Amir's gifts. I found the little buckets at Target a few months ago. Cute! (I mean, very manly.)

  1. Wonderful as usual sis!
We can't make it to SD this year. I am TOTALLY unprepared and a tiny bit disappointed in myself for not preparing. It falls after our worst financial time of the year and I have to have it planned for by September if we're going to make it...Insh'Allah this will be our last one missed. Looks like a great time, are you on facebook? I've been watching some of my/our sister work on garments...too cute! Take notes at the HS meeting!
