SD09 Countdown Day 16~Making Candy

We used Wilton's candy melts from Michael's.

I let the children break up the candy with hammers while still in the bag. Then they put the chunks inside candy making squirt bottles. I put the bottles inside a bowl of boiling hot water and covered that bowl with another one. This worked really good in lieu of a double boiler.

We won't be using the bottles again! They exploded!

One mold ready to go. This process was so sticky and messy, but fun.

We put them in the fridge to cool. I didn't get any pics of the finished product, but take my word for it; they were mmmm, mmmmm good!
