I have found the Hidden Pictures Playground series from Highlights to be a great alternative for some those expensive Critical Thinking Company products that I'm dying for. The children enjoy doing them and asking questions of them as they work requires those budding critical thinking brain cells to grow. The activities are great when working in silence is required. Thank you Aunt Trina for the subscription.
